Atlas Roofing Company in San Francisco: What to Know First
We provide independent Atlas roofing service in San Francisco, and most repair calls get a written estimate within 48 hours of the first phone call. The price goes on paper before any work starts, and it does not move at the door. If you own a home in San Francisco with an Atlas roof system and you’re seeing leaks, granule loss, or ridge line issues, this page tells you what’s actually going on and what it costs to fix. Call (831) 318-8819 and a live person answers.
We’re an independent Atlas service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer. That means we fix what’s failing without needing a manufacturer rep to approve the diagnosis. Travis Oakley and our crew have been working San Francisco roofs for years, from flat torch-down systems in the Sunset to steep Victorian replacements near Alamo Square. We know which Atlas products hold up in this fog and marine air, and which ones need attention by year twelve.
How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
- Pinnacle Pristine shingle granule shedding on north-facing slopes. The Pinnacle line is a common Atlas architectural shingle in San Francisco, and we regularly see premature granule loss on north-facing roof planes where fog sits longest. The shingles don’t fail structurally, but the mineral surface wears down, exposing the asphalt layer underneath. We inspect the affected slope and replace only those shingles when the decking is still solid, realigning the remaining course so water keeps moving off the roof.
- StormMaster Slate cracking at the nail line. Atlas StormMaster Slate mimics slate and stone, and it’s a good product, but we see stress cracks at the nail line when the shingles were face-nailed too tight during original installation. On a San Francisco roof that catches afternoon wind, those cracks let water work under the tab. Our fix is removal and replacement, and we check the surrounding course for the same nail pattern so the same crack doesn’t appear six months later.
- GlassMaster felt-underlayment delamination on low-slope roofs. On flat and low-slope roofs over Sunset and Richmond District homes, Atlas GlassMaster underlayment can separate from the decking when moisture gets trapped between layers. Once it delaminates, the top layer of modified bitumen membrane moves and starts splitting at the seams. We strip the affected section to the decking, hand-check the plywood for soft spots, and re-cover with new underlayment and cap sheet, hand-rolled at every seam.
- AC Foam polyiso insulation compression under foot traffic. On flat roofs where an Atlas AC Foam polyiso board is part of the assembly, we find compressed or dented insulation under mechanical units and skylight curbs where previous service work concentrated foot traffic. Compressed polyiso loses R-value and creates low spots where water ponds. We cut out the compressed section and replace it with a matching thickness, then re-adhere the membrane and check drainage slope with a level before re-installing the flashing.
- HP42 polyethylene underlayment tearing at the drip edge. Atlas HP42 is a synthetic underlayment that is supposed to be a secondary water barrier, but on re-roofs where the old drip edge was left in place, the HP42 tears at the metal edge and starts peeling back in the wind. Water gets behind it and runs under the shingle line. We pull the old drip edge, replace the torn underlayment, and install new drip edge over the underlayment, not under it. It’s not complicated, but it has to be done in the right order.

Our Atlas Roofing Company Process
- 1
Call and describe the problem. A live person answers, takes notes, and schedules a site visit. We don’t use a callback queue, and we don’t send an automated message.
- 2
Full roof inspection on foot. We walk the roof, not just the suspected leak area, and mark every finding with chalk. When we see an Atlas slope failing, we check the whole plane for the same failure mode.
- 3
Written price before any work starts. The estimate lists the roof section, materials (OEM Atlas when warranty matters, quality aftermarket when OEM is unavailable or overpriced for the situation), labor, and cleanup, all on paper. The price doesn’t move after that.
- 4
The repair or replacement. Uniformed, background-checked technicians handle the job. We protect the landscaping, sweep the work area, and keep nails out of the driveway with a magnet sweep after every day.
- 5
Water test and inspection. We run water on the repaired area before we come off the roof. You see the result before we leave.
- 6
Written guarantee. Every job gets the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If it fails within one full year, we come back at no charge.

AfterWhat Atlas Roofing Company Costs in San Francisco
Here are current price ranges for common Atlas work in San Francisco, as of this writing. These are ballpark figures, not quotes; your roof’s pitch, access, and decking condition will move the number.
- Atlas shingle repair (small, 1-3 shingles): $290 – $480
- Atlas ridge cap replacement (linear feet): $18 – $30 per linear foot installed
- Atlas underlayment repair with drip edge replacement: $1,200 – $2,400
- Full Atlas shingle re-roof on a standard San Francisco single-family home: $14,000 – $24,000
- Atlas flat roof membrane repair or small recover (torch-down/flat systems): $3,500 – $9,000
What moves the price most in San Francisco is roof access and decking condition. A three-story Victorian on a tight street costs more to set up safely than a single-story Sunset flat. If you want an exact number, call (831) 318-8819 and we’ll schedule a free estimate. The price goes in writing before any work begins, and it does not move.
Why San Francisco Homeowners Call Brennan Roofing Co San Francisco for Atlas Work
We operate under the Garrison Standard, which means the written price comes before any work starts, not after the crew has already pulled a few shingles. Our technicians are background-checked and wear uniforms, so when someone walks onto your roof, you know exactly who it is. We install materials from Atlas, GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, IKO, Tamko, and Boral, so if an Atlas product is backordered or a better-value line fits your roof, we’ll tell you the options in plain language instead of pushing whatever is in the truck. Every job gets the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing, and if a repair fails within one full year, we return at no charge. Travis Oakley says a good roof shouldn’t need to be talked about; it should just hold.
FAQs
No. As an independent Atlas service provider, we repair Atlas roofs without touching the original manufacturer warranty as long as the repair is done per the installation standard and no non-Atlas component replaces a warrantied Atlas component when that component is still under its coverage period. When OEM Atlas parts are needed to keep warranty coverage intact, we use them and note it in the written estimate.
We stock common Atlas shingle colors and ridge cap profiles in our San Francisco yard, and we can order less-common Atlas components like glass-reinforced underlayment and specialty flashing with a two-to-three-day lead time. If a part is unavailable, we tell you the aftermarket option and whether it carries the same warranty standing before you decide.
We schedule standard repairs within 48 to 72 hours of the first call, and we handle active leak situations as quickly as our crew schedule allows. We don’t promise same-day service on every call, but we do answer the phone with a live person who tells you honestly when the crew can be there.
Repair the roof if the decking is solid, the shingles are within their service life, and the damage is limited to one or two areas. Replace it if you’re seeing granule loss across multiple planes, leaks in more than one room, or shingles cracking at the nail line throughout. We tell you which one makes financial sense, even if the repair is the smaller job. Call (831) 318-8819 for a free estimate.
